Birthdays

Today is my birthdays.  Birthdays are normally a time for celebrations and happiness.  It’s a time where family comes together to honor the birth of a child, grandchild, niece, nephew or anyone special in their lives.  My cousin just had a baby two weeks ago and the day that child was born was so special.  It’s her day.  The one day a year where it’s all about her.  A day that little Ada’s mother and father will always remember as being one of the best days of their live because this special little lady was born into their lives.

That’s the way it’s supposed to be, but for others, birthdays can mean so much more.  They bring about an entire other set of emotions.  That’s how it  is for me.  I love my birthday for all of the reasons above, but it makes me sad too.  One minute I will be in a fairly good mood and the next I want to cry my eyes out because I’ m so sad.  I start thinking about the the next month and on July 1st I lost such an important person to me.  I start to wonder what it would have been like to have had her at our birthday parties or for her to have been there for me when I had my children.  I miss her more around this time of year than any other time because it’s our birthday.  Not just my birthday, but hers too.  There is an ache deep within my heart that never goes away.  It dulls throughout the year, but today and the next month it comes out and roars like a lion.  After July 1st it  start to mellow out but until then……

As I’ve gotten older I’ve tried to be a bit more positive and not dwell on her death.  Sometimes it works, sometimes not.  I’ve been really lucky in the fact that she’s given me there gifts that I can remember.  I hold on to these memories as they are the only ones that I have since she was so young when she passed.  The first gift came when I was 21ish.  I was going through a really rough time in my life and she came to me in a dream.  We were sitting on a couch and she was just holding me, lightly petting my hair.  She was just giving me comfort.  She told me that things were going to be bad for awhile but they would get better.  It was really nice.  I felt like a normal person for the first time in my life.  My other half was finally with me and it was frickin fantastic.

The second gift that she gave me was few years later.  I hadn’t been to her grave in a long time so I decided to stop by one day.  I don’t normally like to go there but this time around I just felt like I should.  It was a few weeks past our birthday.  I walked to her grave and stood there for a few moments when I notice a newspaper laying a few feet away.  I had to pick it up.  Anyone want to guess what day that paper was for?  Yep, May 17th.  I looked through it trying to find some reference so that I knew it was from her.  The it hit me.  It was several weeks past our birthday—what are the chances that a paper with our birth date would just be lying around right by her grave?  She was just showing me that she was there and thinking of me.

The third gift came just two days ago.  We have several remote controls for our direct tv in our home.  Every single one of them has been lost and I could not find one anywhere.  I was at work and I suddenly I got the impression that she was messing with me and had hidden all of them and that I would find one when I got home that night.  So, later on that night I was sitting at my computer desk and I turned around and right in the middle of the floor was that remote.  I had just walked over there not more than 5 minutes before and it was not there.

Thanks for the birthday presents Mindy.  Can’t wait to see you and give you a huge hug!  Happy  Birthday.  I love you!

What would you do?

Sometimes I don’t know what is real, or just stuff that I make up.  I’ve really been trying to hone in on any physic powers that I may have.  I sincerely believe that everyone is born with physic abilities.  We use these abilities when we are younger but as we get older we start to not believe anymore and shut off our abilities.

I used to have visions all the time and they used to freak the hell out of me.  So, one day I just shut it off and said no more.  I wish I had never done it but now I’m trying to open my mind again.  Not completely as to let anything in, but enough to help people.

So tonight I had a vision.  I was a young child in a car seat. He was in a van was clearly having a pretty bad seizure.  He was jerking around and foaming at the mouth.  I felt like it  was pretty serious, but that he would be ok once it was over.  The thing is, I think I know who this child is  and now I’m not sure what to do.  Do I tell his mom what I saw? I don’t want to freak her out, especially if it turns out that it doesn’t happen.

What would you do?  Would you tell?

Is it all about the money?

I hate it hat life seems to be all about the money all of the time.  One of the great things about the paranormal world is that when it comes to Ghost Hunting” and helping people, the “hunting groups” don’t charge a fee.  This is wonderful for the people who need the help.     My issue is this:  Why do they charge so darn much for the special events?  Ok, I know why they charge…..The “special guests” have to make money and they have to pay for the event hosting and all of the other charges.  I guess I’m just being crabby because I want to go to them but can’t afford to do it.

There was an even this weekend that sounded like it would have been so fun.  Dustan Pari and Britt Griffith from Ghost Hunters were in Galveston this weekend.  I wanted to go so badly but just could not afford it.  My son’s baseball league has a scholarship that they give out.  It would be really cool if I could get a scholarship in order to be able to attend these events!

Chip Coffey was in Houston this April too.  I really wanted to go see him and experience seeing him give readings in person.  His group gave copies of his book to people who bought ticktes.  That’s pretty cool too.

Here is my plea:::If you are a “special guest” or an event coordinator, be cool and give away one or two free tickets to your event to the less fortunate, I.E. me!!!!  Dustin, Britt, Chip, hook a girl up!

What the heck just happened?

I had a very interesting thing happen to me the other day.  I’ve been training other employees at the company that I work for and the other day while I was taking a break, an interesting guest decided to come to my training!  A co-workers husband died a few months ago and she was at this training.  I guess he decided that he wanted to talk to her and wanted to use me as the medium in which to do so!

So, I’m sitting there and at first I just get this overwhelming feeling of love for her and I know immediately that it’s her husband coming through me.  I’m not sure if he’s a jokester, but the next thing I know, he’s showing me himself dressed up in a tennis outfit.  It was not a modern one, but one that a person might wear in the late seventies.  He had on the wrist bands, headband, really short shorts and a tee-shirt and tennis shoes.  It was quite funny to look at actually.  He was standing there in a pose, bouncing the ball.  I think he was tryng to be funny!

While I’m seeing this I’m thinking that there is no way I can tell her this. She’s going to think I’m nuts.  So I keep thinking to myself that I”m not going to tell her.  He stands behind me and pokes me in the back until I give in to at least contact her.  He was also telling me that he loved her shoe’s and her feet.

I sent her a message on FB.  She’s not someone that I see on a regular basis, but I was to much of a chicken to actually go up to her and tell her this stuff.

Haunted House anyone?

I saw this on MSN today and thought it was cool!  A haunted house and it’s cheaper!  Heck yea!  Here’s a link to the story:http://now.msn.com/money/0319-hong-kong-haunted-house.aspx.  Maybe I should move to Japan!  I love it when I find articles in the news about paranormal stuff.

I saw the other day that Britt from GH was going to come to Galveston Texas for a special appearance.  I want to go, but the tickets are $150 each.  It would be really neat to be able to go investigate with Britt Griffith and Dustin Pari.  I think I need a cash fairy!

My favorite topic, GH!

So I finally got around to watching the episode of Ghost Hunters where Grant Wilson announced that he would be leaving the show.  It was tear jerker.  I was almost boo hooing with the cast!  I guess when you’ve watched a show weekly for 8 years you start to feel like you know the people in the show.  Heck I remember one time where I had dreams about Jason Hawes for about two weeks straight.  It was driving me crazy.  My husband started to joke that maybe I was in love with the guy!  Here are a couple of my suggestions:

1.  They could do a celerbity ghost hunters.  Each week they could bring in a different celebrity to help Jason.  They’ve had several celebrities come on the show before.  It would add an air of excitement to the show.  It could be fun to watch how differnt people react to being put in freaky situations.  I loved when Meat Loaf was on the show.  I would really like to see him come back.

2.  They could bring back one of the old cast members.  It would be kinda cool to see what’s been going on with some of them.  Dustin Peri stated off on Ghost Hunters but then went over to GHI.  He’s not on GHI anymore.  Maybe he could come back.  Maybe they could bring Brian Harnois back.  He’s the “dude run” guy.  He was fun to watch!  I liked Rob Demarest from GHI. I think Rob and Jay would make a fantastic team!

3.  I know this is a long shot but it would be the best option as far as I’m concerned.  They could let me replace Grant!  I would be a wonderful replacement, right?

What do you guys think?  What should they do?

Two Tales

Here are two tales from the ghost stories hour while we were on the USS Lexington.  He told us several stories, but time only allows for two today.  These two were by far my favorites.

Tale 1

Several people have reported seeing a man standing on the deck of the ship.  One things makes this man stand out and because of this one physical attribute, he tends to startle people.  He doesn’t move nor does he speak, but he does have a very angry look on his face.  He stands there for a couple of seconds looking pretty pissed and then he will vanish.  No one really knows who this person is, but in looking back at the ships records, some think they know why he’s so upset.

When a soldier dies on a ship during war time, they give them a proper bariel at sea.  One man aboard the USS Lexington did not receive such a bariel.  During one of the battles one of the soldiers accidentally walked into the propeller of a plane.  It was a huge mess and nothing could be done for him.  So, they were in a battle and had to do something fast.  They grabbed a hose and sprayed his remains off the side of the ship.  Hmmm, I’d be pissed too!

Tale 2

One day, the present day director of the ship was in his office doing some paperwork. He’s very particular about putting his pen caps back on his pens when he’s done.  He was in an terrible mood that day and when he couldn’t find his pen cap he lost it.  So, he decided to leave is office for a few minutes but before he did, he shouted “My pen cap had better be back on my desk when I get back” and then left the office.  He may have said some other words, but at the telling of the story, there were young children around!

A few minutes later he came back and upon looking at his desk, not only was his pen cap back, but there were 5 more lined up beside it all in a neat little row!  I guess the soldiers are still following orders!

USS Lexington Trip

We finally made it to the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi this week.  We were able to stay overnight on the ship with my son’s boy scout troop.  I couldn’t call it a ghost hunting  trip, because that’s not what I was doing, but I did find out some pretty cool information about the ship.

When we first stepped onto the ship, it felt like coming home to me.  I could almost see the Navy personnel standing on the decks waving us in.  It just felt like I was supposed to be there.  You would think that the ship would be cold and non inviting because it’s made out of steel but that’s just not the case.  I really felt like it was ok for us to be there and that the ghosts were glad to have us.

Of the many activities that we partook on the ship, the best one for me was the ghost story hour.  They had their resident ghost hunter there to tell us about his experiences and the other reported experiences on the ship.  He told us several stories.  Some of them are on their website and some of them are not.  I’m going to post them all in my next post.

FYI:  He also told us about his experiences with the Ghost Hunters group.  He was actually with them on the ship and met Jay, Grant and the rest of the crew.  I’ll write about that in my next post too.   I have to go home and write something up with my husbands help so that I get all my facts straight!

I’m still trying to get my own ghost hunting group up and running.  I was waiting on a friend to have her baby so she could be a part of the group but she told me yesterday that she didn’t want to be a part of it anymore.  So, I’m starting over again.  This time I have the help of my neighbor and good friend Aaron.  Hopefully he will post on the site so you can all get to know him.

I promise I will have the second Lexington post up soon!
